The Mil Mi-24 (Russian: Миль Ми-24, NATO reporting name: Hind) is a large helicopter gunship and attack helicopter and low-capacity troop transport with room for eight passengers. It is produced by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant and has been operated since 1972 by the Soviet Air Force, its successors, and more than 30 other nations. A few variants of the Hind appear in the series.

VariantsEdit

Mi-24D (Hind-D)Edit

The Hind-D was a purer gunship than the earlier variants. After Koko Hekmatyar secured her shipment of MiG-29 upgrades, C. K. Kloshkin tried to take advantage of the situation by bringing in 15 disassembled Hind-Ds and spares, which he sold to the air force. Koko was informed of this by HQ and briefed her team on the situation, assigning Tojo and Valmet to negotiate with the air force while she and Jonah supported by Lehm, Ugo, Mao, and Lutz dealt with Kloshkin. Lehm and his team took out Kloshkin's snipers and Tojo successfully negotiated with Stanistaw Jesensrg to cancel the Hind order, after which Koko had Jonah execute Kloshkin.

Mi-24V (Hind-E)Edit

S1 02 Hind-E

One of the Hind-Es in Episode 2.

The Hind-E was the most widely produced version with more than 1,500 made. During the brief war over an oil pipeline between Russia and a certain Eastern European country on its southern border, Hinds were deployed against Pollack's men during the night battle that Tojo observed from the ruined house.[1] The following day two Hind-Es appeared in the mountains and attacked units deployed in the hills with their guns after Koko's Squad reached the summit. They left their vehicles and dispersed to the countryside by the side of the road. When a FIM-92A Stinger fired at the Hinds missed, Koko noticed a soldier under cover nearby. When she and Jonah crawled over to him, he refused to tell her who had fired the Stinger. Koko advised him to have his men fall back and retreat because the Hinds were equipped with infrared cameras, making anyone on the ground easy to spot. When the Hinds flew away, the soldier noticed that Koko was smiling the whole time during the attack.

SuperHind Mk.VEdit

S1 07 Super Hind

The SuperHind in Episode 7.

The SuperHind Mk.V is the newest version of the "SuperHind" with a fully redesigned front fuselage and cockpit. Scarecrow arranged for one to pick up himself, Schokolade, Koko, and Ugo outside of the restaurant Koko and Chan Guoming had had dinner at in Port Elizabeth. This unknowingly foiled Chan's attempt to have them all shot by a sniper he had stationed on a nearby rooftop.
